A GREAT WEEKEND…

It was with great excitement that I opened the February issue of The Bank Angler and saw that my 13 year old son Damian and I had won the Rushmere/Laurentia weekend competition. That signaled the start of a lot of preparation, which we hoped would culminate in a successful weekend. First stop was the Laurentia website where I downloaded the rules that had to be followed. I was not quite prepared for all the rules, but it would all make sense to me later. I contacted Shanin Weir and made my booking at swim 6 for the weekend of 9/10 April.  I had to buy quite a few things, but in general I had most of the equipment in place.  I also had to undergo an equipment inspection with Shanin before arrival, but at least that put my mind at ease that we had all the rules properly covered. I found Shanin to be very pleasant and eager to share his intensive knowledge of Laurentia.
